The Wialon GPS monitoring platform has its own module, Wialon Logistic, designed for organizing transportation, optimizing routes, and reducing costs.
Delivery orders can be created manually by uploading them through a web form using a prepared Excel file.
Our engineers have expanded the standard functionality of Wialon Logistic and developed an integration that allows customers to create orders in bulk and assign drivers by importing data from a pre-prepared Excel file.
How the solution works
Now customers can create a table of orders in a convenient format and then upload it through the web interface.
Advantages of the solution:
- Validation of entered data (including dates—orders from the past are not created);
- Checking the ability to assign a driver;
- Error checking in the table.
Flexibility and automapping templates
One of the key advantages of the solution is the ability to save field mapping templates (automapping). For example, if the column order in Excel has changed, it’s possible to define a new table layout as a saved template.
This eliminated the need for users to manually adjust the file structure each time they load it.
Implementation Description
The solution was implemented for a freight transportation company in East Africa.
The client handles a large volume of orders daily, so the new integration significantly simplified and accelerated the order creation process.
Now, all they need to do is create an Excel spreadsheet, upload it via a web form, and all orders appear in the Wialon Logistic system.
Implementation Results
- Bulk order creation and driver assignment;
- Data validation upon upload;
- Ease of working with large volumes of information;
- Ability to use custom templates;
- Reduced order processing time and improved data accuracy.
Thanks to the enhanced functionality of Wialon Logistic, the client now has a convenient tool for bulk order import, eliminating manual entry, reducing the risk of errors, and speeding up logistics processes.
